Tonight, January 7th, is the first event of the year in Downtown Lakeland. First Friday kicks off with a theme of “Rodeo RoundUp!” At 7 pm, there will be a Rodeo Parade on the streets of historic Downtown Lakeland. Why rodeo you may ask. Well there’s going to be cowboys, line-dancing, square-dancing, trains, bounce, houses, & some good ‘ol live country music! And of course, there will be some great discount tickets to the big rodeo that will be coming to the Lakeland Center on January 14-15.
There will be other activities as well . . .
How’s your appetite? There will be a “Fastest Pie Eater in the West Contest.” If you have a young aspiring cowboy or cowgirl they can come get their pictures taken. Votes will be taken to determine the cutest cowpoke this side of the Mississippi! Props will be provided for each cowpoke cutie. The winners will receive tickets to the rodeo & gift certificates.
